FAQ
What do I wear? For the first class, please just wear something that you are comfortable moving in with either sneakers, jazz shoes/sneakers or ballet shoes. If you have Irish dance shoes already, awesome! If you don't, and you would like to get a pair, I can help you find some used shoes or you can find them on your own via *this link*
Can I try a class? Absolutely! I welcome drop-ins to any class. I can prepare a little more for you if you shoot me an email first, but anyone is welcome to come either watch or join in a class to try it out!
Is it ok if I have never done any kind of dance before? No problem! I have taught beginners of all different ages and stages of coordination. Everyone learns Irish dance at their own pace! Some things might come easy right away, others might take a little bit longer. Either way, whether your goal is to compete or just to come skip about with some new friends, my classroom is non-judgmental and encouraging to all ages and levels!
Our school focuses on training students in all aspects of Irish dance, both traditional and modern. Students will also be given a strong foundation in overall fitness and musicality, and will learn to work independently as well as with a team.
Keeping the needs and wishes of each individual dancer in mind is also very important to us and we will strive to place students in classes that will challenge them to be the best dancer they wish to be.
Our main program focuses on a structured curriculum to produce dancers of a high performance and competition standard. However we also have programs available for students who just want to learn a bit about Irish dance and have fun dancing non-competitively!
